How long are the lessons?
Lessons are of 45 minutes or 1 hour duration.The choice is yours.

What qualifications do your tutors have?
All the tutors we personally refer, are trained and registered teachers. Many of the tutors in the Members Section are registered teachers. Some tutors in the Members Section are not trained and registered teachers, but they have excellent references, qualifications and experience. All our tutors are personally screened.

At what point will my child’s tuition start?
The starting point for your child will be defined after an assessment by one of our tutors. This assessment will determine your child’s present learning level.

How much will the initial assessment cost?
 If tuition is in your home,the initial assessment will be at no cost to you. It's purpose is to accurately identify the learning needs of your child and how we can best meet them.

How much do lessons cost?
In the tutor’s home $45.00 per hour.
 

In your home $50.00 per hour.

In the tutor's home $40.00 for 45 minutes.                                                                                               

In your home $45.00 for 45 minutes.

How many lessons will my child need?
A basic contract is for 10 lessons of one hour per week. At the end of 10 weeks, your Step Up tutor will provide you with an assessment of the progress made. You may decide to finish at this point, or continue for a further 10 lessons.Contracts of 5 lessons are available for exam preparation.

At what times are tutors available?
During school terms, tutors are available from 3.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. During school holidays some tutors are available from 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. The times and days of tuition are negotiable with tutors.

Do you have a tutor in my area?
Where possible, we will provide you with the nearest tutor whose skills best meet your child’s needs. The areas where tutors are available can be found in the Members section

How Do I pay?

In Advance:

• By cheque, Master Card, Visa or online for 10 lessons.

Lesson by lesson:

• Automatic payment starting from the first lesson.
• Cheque, paid to the tutor following the lesson.
• Online, paid into the Step Up account on the evening of tuition.
